Ask the Energy Coach

Michael Courtney - Energy Coach

Michael Courtney has been an Outreach Coordinator with the Green Jobs-Green New York Program since 2011 and has worked in community outreach and education for more than 20 years. Michael is trained as a Building Analyst through the Building Performance Institute, and he designed and built his own home which is Gold Level Certified under the National Association of Home Builders Green Building Program. He assists home owners on a daily basis with completing energy saving upgrades through NYSERDA’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program.

“Many people don’t realize that the cost of owning or renting a home isn’t just about the mortgage or rent, but also how much it costs to heat, cool and run electricity in the home,” says Michael. “I love that Green Jobs - Green New York at RUPCO helps people learn how to really cut their energy costs, and have a more affordable, safer and comfortable home.”
